A Special Thank You to Asley ‘Grub’ Cooper.

Mr. Asley Beresford ‘Grub’ Cooper, CD, is a founding member of one of Jamaica’s leading bands, the Fab 5.  Mr. Cooper is in fact a Jamaican musical institution whose talents are many and whose joy in the arts is unbounded and unrestricted, offering a wide vista of artistic expression for us to share. ‘Grub’ Cooper is an arranger; songwriter; producer; drummer; singer and saxophonist.

Mr. Cooper has worked with celebrated musicians and groups including: Bob Marley; Rita Marley; Ziggy Marley; The I-Threes; Boy George & Culture Club; the Beach Boys; Talking Heads and Wycliffe Jean.

As a passionate Jamaican, Come Home Jamaica is Mr. Cooper’s gift expressing his love for his homeland, as the people celebrate the island’s 50th year of independence (1962-2012).

About the Song

Come Home Jamaica is a compilation of sweet rhythms and lyrics utilizing several genres indigenous to Jamaica.  Grub Cooper describes it as a fusion of mento;  pocomania; rock steady; ska and reggae with just a touch of DJ chanting.
